Events & Webinars

ABoyer_LessonPlanFrom June through August, we held a series of seminars in six FEMA regions this summer which focused on the issue of off-campus fire safety. We spoke to folks who are involved in educating students about fire safety, including campus fire safety officials, housing officers, community liaisons, fire chiefs and fire prevention specialists.

Since 2000, more than four out of five campus-related fire deaths have happened in off-campus housing where most of the students across the nation live. These seminars provided an overview of the The Alarming Truth film and screening guide as an educational tool, and discussed strategies that you can use when reaching out to students in your community.
